TS x Pride

Our hometown of San Francisco has a storied history as a battleground of activism for social justice and LGBTQ+ rights, and with Pride Month upon us we’re reminded of both our hometown heroes like Harvey Milk and those who still fight today, like the fantastic folks at the Human Rights Campaign.

To celebrate Pride Month, we’ve cooked up two fresh iterations of our classic Cotton Hemp Tee that sport retro iconography pulled from a history of San Francisco protest and celebration. Worn by agents of change through the 1970s, the pink triangle—once a marker of WWII oppression—was reclaimed by the community as an insignia of defiance and perseverance that flies in the face of an unjust status quo.

Today, that message of hope and perseverance is carried on by a proud global community of advocates and allies as well as passionate non-profit organizations. For more than two decades the Human Rights Campaign has been breaking down barriers and advancing initiatives for social justice through their three pillars of action: mobilize, educate, and advocate. So we’re proud to announce that a portion of all proceeds from the Cotton Hemp Tee in Unite and Hate-Free will go directly to the Human Rights Campaign to help strengthen their fight for LGBTQ+ inclusion and equality.

How To Wear Sashiko Clothing

Over the years, our signature sashiko fabric has become a favorite among both our team and our community. It offers dimensional texture, a drape that rides the line between softness and structure, and an inherent versatility that makes it a natural fit for everything from pants to jackets to heavier shirting.

While it looks great fresh off the loom, our sashiko fabric really comes to life after a dye and wash, when the pronounced peaks and valleys of its distinctive weave reveal themselves in a character-rich range of tones that only improve with time.

If you ask us, sashiko clothing deserves just as much representation in the modern wardrobe as denim, terry, or canvas. So, to help make that case, we put together this guide on how to wear sashiko and incorporate it into your daily rotation.

Perfecting The Oxford

Out of all of the garments in our closets, from tees to jeans to chinos, there may be no item more timeless, versatile, and indispensable as the Oxford cloth button-down. It’s a style so ubiquitous, it’s often taken for granted. As though it’s always been a fixture in menswear, and always will. And while the latter half of that assumption is likely spot on, there was a lot of intention and history that went into the Oxford shirt becoming the icon we recognize it as today.
